The Animated Series' Showrunner Is Aware of Fans' Second Season Predictions — And She Has Positive Updates

The much-anticipated second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel debuts on Prime Video this week, and audience theories has been intense.

Season 1 introduces a large cast of personalities living within Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds accompanied by musical numbers about their clashes, and builds heated competitions and angsty, affectionate connections that drive audience devotion.

The fandom's stated hopes for the new season differ greatly, but certain threads emerge over and over: Could a fan-favorite character escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the binding agreement constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Obviously, I don't make the show with audience demands specifically in mind," the creator stated recently. "But I believe that me being a devotee of the series implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator reveals her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.

That could imply fans have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they could be shocked at how fast the new season progresses, and how many of what they're waiting for happens now.

"I feel like people are going to get a lot out of it," the creator notes. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some incredible disclosures, some really cool backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — especially in the form of fan bingo cards.

"I've seen a couple people make a prediction grid about the new season," she mentions. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've actually done some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on the streaming service on October 29.
